  • Gently exfoliate the area to be sugared 3-4 days prior.
  • Light moisturizers day of are okay, please avoid any heavy or occlusive moisturizers before and after your service.
  • Avoid caffeine.
  • Avoid activities that elevate your body temperature. i.e., workouts, hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms, etc. before and after your service.
  • Avoid contraindicated products and medications. Please inform us if you are using any of the items listed below.
  • Avoid excessive sun exposure and tanning beds.
  • Come well hydrated.
  • We kindly ask that you use a tampon or menstrual cup during your cycle.
  • We recommend spray tanning after your appointment as sugaring will remove your tan.

  • Avoid elevating your body temperature for the first 24-48 hours. i.e., working out, hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms, etc.
  • Avoid swimming in any body of water for the first 24-48 hours.
  • Wear loose, breathable fabrics. (Cotton, linen, wool are ideal choices)
  • Avoid comedogenic or fragranced makeup + skin care products on the face for the first 24-48 hours.
m a i n t e n a n c e
  • Exfoliate gently 1-3 times a week using a gentle scrub or exfoliating mitt.
  • Moisturize daily.
  • If an ingrown hair occurs - hot compress, ice, gently exfoliate, moisturize, repeat. Whatever you do - don't pick!
  • Avoid shaving or tweezing in-between.

  • Accutane (Acne medication) – You must be off this medication for a minimum of one year before sugaring/waxing.
  • Adapalene (Acne medication)
  • Alustra (Retin A)
  • Avage (Acne medication)
  • Avita (Retin A)
  • Differin (Acne medication)
  • Isotretinoin (Accutane)
  • Renova (Retin A)
  • Retin A (Acne and Anti-aging medication)
  • Tazarac (Acne medication)
  • Tazarotene (Tazorac)
  • Tretinoin (Retin A)
  • Etc.

Please inform us if you are using any of the following:
  • Other Acne medications not listed above
  • Bleaching agents (typically used on the upper lip)
  • Bleaching agents for pigmentation of the skin i.e. Hydroquinone, Trilumena
  • Previous chemical depilatories such as Nair
  • Benzoyl Peroxide (ProActive)
  • Alpha Hydroxy Acids (Glycolic, Lactic)
  • Oral or Topical Antibiotics
  • Retinol - over the counter
  • Salicylic Acid
  • Other exfoliants

Additional Considerations:
  • Sunburned or irritated areas cannot be sugared/waxed.
  • Moles cannot be sugared/waxed.
  • You must wait a minimum of seven days before sugaring/waxing after a light chemical peel or Microdermabrasion.
  • Sugaring/waxing should not occur if you have had laser skin resurfacing within the past year.
  • We do not recommend sugaring/waxing if you have had a physician-administered peel within the past two years.
  • If irritation should occur, we recommend using an antibiotic ointment such as Neosporin to keep the area continually moist to avoid infection and scabbing.
  • Avoid sun exposure for the first two days following your treatment. Always wear SPF.
